How to do it
Facing away from a low cable with a rope between your legs, you hinge back and then drive your hips forward to stand. It teaches the hip hinge with a gentle, steady load and is a common lead-in to deadlifts or swings.
- Walk out far enough that the weight lifts off the stack.
- Push your hips back while the rope passes between your legs.
- Keep your arms long and back flat throughout.
- Squeeze your glutes to stand tall; don't pull with your arms.
