How to do it
Standing on a step with a dumbbell in each hand, you rise onto the balls of your feet and lower your heels below the edge. It trains the calves with nothing more than dumbbells and a stair, so it fits home and hotel workouts.
- Stand with the balls of both feet on the step and your heels hanging off.
- Hold a dumbbell at each side, or one in one hand and the rail with the other.
- Keep your knees almost straight and rise as high as you can.
- Lower slowly until you feel a full stretch, without bouncing out of the bottom.
